Call for Applications – Loyalist Youth Commissioner – 15 June Deadline
Are you an enthusiastic, positive person who believes in Scouts Canada’s Mission?
Are you willing to undertake additional training to fulfil a leadership role?
Are you willing to be a role model for others within the Scouting program?
Do you have 5-10 hours per month that you can give to Scouting above your other commitments?
Will you be 14 years old by 1 September 2017, or will not turn 27 until 1 September 2018?
If you answered yes to all of the questions above then we want you to consider applying to be Loyalist Area’s Youth Commissioner.
Working with the Council Youth Commmissioner, Area Commissioner and Area Support Manager, you will be key to ensuring that our programs remain youth focused and that we are delivering on our promises. The AYC is a key contact for Scouting in Loyalist Area. An AYC has the opportunity to take on new challenges and initiatives at with Area and Council. The initiatives are varied, but include running training courses, planning events, working with finances and helping Scout groups to conduct great programs.
The AYC will meet new people in and out of Scouts, and most importantly, be a voice that helps to grow and promote Scouting. The role is open to members and non-members of Scouts Canada. We will work with you to develop your communication, time management, planning, teamwork, and most importantly leadership skills.
